What do views actually do for your brand?
A report with "1.2 million views" looks good in any meeting. The question is what actually happened in those millions. Today, in short: what a view really counts and what to ask next time.
WHAT CHANGED
View counts keep looking better. Most platforms count a view within the first seconds of playback, often with the sound off. A quick scroll can already be a view.
WHAT IT MEANS
A view shows reach, not attention. It says your brand appeared on a screen, not that anyone noticed it. What matters for a brand is what stays in people's minds after that view.
Seen ≠ Chosen.
FOR YOUR NEXT MEETING
Three questions to ask the next time a report lands on your desk:
- How many people also saw the brand name?
- How long, on average, did they stay on the video?
- What changed after the campaign, in searches or in sales?
